A Counter Fairy Deck revolves around the use of Counter Traps to negate most moves by your opponent, also triggering the effects of Fairy-type monsters whose effects activate when Counter Traps are activated.
The main card, "Bountiful Artemis", is usually brought out as quickly as possible and then backed up by Counter Traps to protect her while allowing the player to draw additional cards with her effect.
Certain variations of this deck use Meltiel, Sage of the Sky in order to gain field and overall card advantage, although it is often preferred to keep Meltiel out of this deck because of the slow nature of this play (due to the need of The Sanctuary in the Sky).
Although not a Fairy, Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord possesses a powerful effect that only works when a Counter Trap is activated to negate any card. This is easily used in conjunction with Solemn Judgment, Dark Bribe, Divine Wrath, and even Destruction Jammer.
Counter Fairy Decks mainly rely on the Counter Traps that the player uses, but cards like Bountiful Artemis and Meltiel, Sage of the Sky have their effects activated even when the opponent activates Counter Traps. However, Voltanis the Adjudicator and Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord both rely on the player to use Counter Traps.
Honest is included because Bountiful Artemis is easy to run over with many monsters that have more attack than it. Bountiful Artemis is an essential card to this deck because it creates the hand advantage that allows this deck to win.
This deck will take a serious blow as of September 1st, 2009, due to Solemn Judgment being limited to 1.
